Headstart School was established in 1999, and  it became apparent that many of our students would benefit greatly from Headstart being able to offer a residential provision. Hence we first opened as Headstart Residential  Care at our new provision in Golden Cross. We have found that our own care homes can offer continuity and security for our students. The staff from both Home and school work in harmony with each other and thus creating an environment for our young people that encourages them to attend school with less anxiety. We have  found this model to be working successfully and we are seeing young people who could not manage the transition to  school are now attending and achieving academic success.
